MELVIN PAYNE started his acting career in the late 1960s as a
singer in The Payne Brothers – composed of Melvin and his two
brothers. Since that time Melvin has worked professionally in
theatre, film and television. He works regularly doing commercial
and voice over work in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2001, he
played a lead role in the film “Me and Mrs. Jones” which took 1st
place at the Hollywood Film Festival. Most recently, Melvin played
“Daddy King” in a play honoring the life and work of Martin Luther
Melvin's latest project is playing the  role of  tv news reporter, Les Walters in the movie "Once Beautiful Past
